How are you? I’m fine.

How is everything? Good.

Is everything okay? Yes.

Never:

How are you? I’m not okay.

How is everything? Not great.

Is everything okay? No.

We are afraid to tell people how we truly feel. We lock our thoughts and emotions inside us, unwilling to speak out for fear others will judge us.

But we shouldn’t be like that. Human beings are supposed to be able to connect. To communicate. To be able to help each other.

Yet we can’t. At least not most of the time.

What does that say about us?
